📣 The Royal Society strengthens their ResearchGate platform presence with Journal Home’s new Open Access Agreement Upgrade. Royal Society Publishing, part of the UK’s national #scienceacademy and publisher of the oldest scientific journal in continuous existence in the world, began the pilot phase of their partnership with ResearchGate in 2022 with the inclusion of 2 journals. Within the first 6 months, they saw a 64% increase in usage of their article content. Following this success, they expanded the partnership to include their full portfolio of journals in Journal Home in May 2024 and we're thrilled to see them further expanding the collaboration just 7 months later. The Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU) will support Royal Society Publishing in driving greater awareness and uptake of #OpenAccess publishing in their journals by providing: 📊 In-depth data that helps the publisher identify active and relevant researchers at participating institutions 📩 A contextual messaging framework, enabling them to deliver messaging tailored to the individual journal that a researcher is engaging with on ResearchGate 🤝 Continuous engagement with researchers throughout the research lifecycle 📈 Unique reporting and analytics to measure the reach and effectiveness of their open access agreements “We’ve continued to engage new and existing researcher communities throughout our Journal Home partnership, growing global readership and authorship in our journals. We are excited to now also harness the unique capabilities of OAAU to help eligible researchers publish open access in our journals, without worrying about if they have funding,” said Graham Anderson, Head of Sales & Marketing. “We're committed to making it as easy as possible for our authors to choose open access and benefit from the increased reach and engagement that this brings. Growing awareness of researchers’ eligibility for funding through the OAAU is key to achieving this.” To learn more about the partnership expansion, see the link in comments. #ResearchGate #STEM #RoyalSociety #Research #OpenScience #Science

🗣️Introducing Open Access Agreement Upgrade for Journal Home! We are delighted to announce a significant enhancement to our ResearchGate Journal Home product for publishers, with the introduction of the #OpenAccessAgreement Upgrade (OAAU). This new feature enables publisher partners to identify and effectively communicate with relevant researchers about funding for publishing that they are eligible for through Open Access Agreements (also referred to as Transformative Agreements, Transitional Agreements or Read & Publish Agreements) – driving greater awareness and uptake of #openaccess publishing. We hear from so many of our publisher partners how difficult it is to communicate with individual researchers about Open Access Agreements. We recently conducted a survey of over 2,000 researchers which found that: 🤝Nearly half (48%) are not at all familiar with such agreements. 🔓Those who do know about these agreements struggle to understand if they are eligible, or how to access funding. OAAU for Journal Home is already showing some impressive results and is proving to be a powerful solution to reach eligible researchers more effectively and at scale. Within the first 6 months, partners with the OAAU activated are reporting more than 90% reach with eligible institutions! 📈 A range of publishers have already activated this new upgrade, including Wiley, Taylor & Francis Group, IOP Publishing, De Gruyter Brill, Sage, The BMJ, The Royal Society, Optica , Canadian Science Publishing, Rockefeller University Press, Scientific.NET and Royal Society of Chemistry.
