Yemeni Houthis Take Direct Action Against Gaza Genocide
Houthi fighters from Yemen have been attacking commercial cargo ships and oil tankers in the Red Sea in an attempt to thwart Israelโs ongoing genocide in Gaza, in solidarity with Palestinians. In response, the United States and United Kingdom have launched airstrikes against Yemen, risking a wider regional war.
Isa Blumi, docent/associate professor of Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies at Stockholm University and author of Destroying Yemen: What Chaos in Arabia Tell Us About the World, spoke with YES! Senior Editor Sonali Kolhatkar on YES Presents: Rising Up With Sonali about the Yemeni fighters.
