Product Lead, Notifications

This is an exciting turning point for Meetup. As we cross 20 million members and rethink Meetup for mobile, we have a huge opportunity (a duty, in fact!) to better alert people to the Meetups they'll love to find. We want you to invent the next generation of smart notifications to spark community and change people's lives. This is a mission-critical, important role at a company with significant growth potential.

We’re looking for an experienced, creative Product Manager to lead us to this future.

As the Product Lead for Notifications, you’ll work with designers, engineers, and data scientists to create, test and deliver the right messages to the right people, at the right time, through the right channels. You’ll make sure the impact of our notifications is constantly monitored and measured but you’ll also be the guardian of the experience for our members and organizers. That means finding the sweet spot -- notifications that are relevant and useful but NEVER spammy.

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record for building world-class mobile experiences, this is an amazing opportunity for you. Experience working on native mobile apps is a huge plus.

To be a successful Product Manager at Meetup, you must have:

  • 5+ years experience working in a product management capacity at a tech, media or e-commerce company (agile, start-up environment preferred)
  • A results-oriented mindset and a proven ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams of designers and engineers
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of current mobile and web technologies, standards and trends
  • Strategic thinking to balance and prioritize short-term tactics with long-term vision
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to rally internal support for ideas
  • A keen design and usability sense driven by the ability to step into users’ shoes and advocate for them
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and time management skills

Every member of the Meetup Team is expected to: be an Innovator; be a Collaborator; be a Champion for their ideas; be an Expert; have High Standards; be dedicated to the power of self-organized groups and our mission of A Meetup Everywhere About Most Everything ("MEME"); and most importantly, Get Stuff Done That Makes a Difference!

If the above describes you and your passions, we want to hear from you!
