Holiday Performance @ Golden West Retirement Community

Our group will be performing a Holiday Recital for the Golden West Senior Living retirement community in Boulder.

All levels are welcome! This will be a great experience for beginning adult cellists who have never participated in a recital or concert before, or for cellists who want to work on their performance or ensemble skills; and at the same time give back to the community!

We have 7 rehearsals planned:

• Sunday, October 19th @ 2-4 pm

• Sunday, October 26th @ 11-1 pm

• Sunday, November 2nd @ 2-4 pm

• Friday, November 14th @ 7-9 pm

• Friday, November 21st @ 7-9 pm

• Sunday, November 23rd @ 2-4 pm

• Wednesday, November 26th @ 7-9 pm

Times and dates are subject to change.

Please attend our first rehearsal (Oct 19th) to see if this is something you may be interested in doing. During our first rehearsal, we will firm up times (we can do later up to 10 pm) depending on participating members' availability. However, dates are less flexible.

Adult cello players looking to meet like-minded adult (18 or older) cellists to play cello music together (e.g. cello choir, ensemble music, etc.) and to learn more about technique, musicality and group playing. The idea is to create a fun, non-competitive group for cellists to meet, play (practice), learn and perform cello ensemble music together. We believe there are a lot of folks out there who would appreciate having a place to meet like minded folks, and play fun music in a supportive environment.

No audition required to join - we just want friendly folks who want to play with other cellists! Abilities can range from beginners (can read music) to more advanced players who are willing to help your fellow community of cellists grow! :)

We will have local cello teachers volunteer their time to facilitate some of our play-ins to ensure that we continue to grow, learn and have fun! Commitment is valued over virtuosity.

Annual Membership Fee $35.00

There has been concern with ensuring that the project can be sustained long term, so members can continue to enjoy play-ins. Therefore, we have recently implemented an Annual Membership Fee of $35.00. Membership fees will be used towards operating costs such as website fees, printing, supplies, food, etc.

3-Steps to become a BCP Member

Step 1:

Sign up to our Meetup group, but selecting the Join Us! button on this website: http://www.meetup.com/Boulder-Cello-Project
You will need to answer a few questions regarding your cello experience and abilities. All experience levels and abilities are welcome. This information helps us plan for our play-ins and events.

Step 2:

Pay the the annual membership fee online, or send us a check. Once we receive your payment and notification from our Meetup site, we will approve your membership.

Step 3:

You will receive a welcome email with passwords to login to our play-in websites. These websites will contain additional information, such as the music to download for the play-ins, our location, previous play-in information and other information regarding the project.

Sorry about the long process!! We are trying to streamline this process, but haven't quite figured out how to do so yet.
