October - Boulder Cello Project Play-in

  • 2 days ago · 2:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

***PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE CHANGE***

Join us in a relaxed environment to play some cello ensemble music together. We'll have a good mixture of beginners to advanced cellists.

1:30 PM - 2:00 PM Food, Drinks & Social. For members who would like to eat some snacks and meet other members, or warm up, before playing. This is not required. Members can simply show up at the scheduled play-in time.

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM Cello Choir. Time is flexible and you may stay longer or leave earlier depending on your schedule. We will take a break midway through the play-in, and members are free to leave during break time if you have other commitments and cannot stay for the entire 2 hour play-in.

This meeting will be for all levels, whether advanced or playing in a group for the first time, and will be led by an experienced cello teacher. We will work on playing and practicing together, dynamics and speed, and having fun!

Moderator: MARCELO SANCHES

To prepare for this meeting:

1. Music and audios will be posted by in the next couple of days. If you have any issues accessing the music, please feel free to send us an email. To view music, please do the following:

-Go to our main website and select the Member Logins tab

-Select the Red Lock under the Monthly Playin Login

-Enter the password

2. If you have not attended one of our play-ins before, please also read http://www.bouldercelloproject.com/play-in.html for more information on what to expect at a play-in for yourself and others.

3. Please tune your A to 441. We will also tune before the play-in. If you're not sure about tuning, don't worry about it. We'll be happy to help when you arrive.

4. Please bring your music stand. Don't forget to bring a music stand if you have one (we have extras available as well) and please label your stand. We will be playing 'musical chairs' so players sit next to cellists playing their part.

We look forward to playing with everyone!

The smaller group allowed Marcelo the Marvelous to give lots of individual attention!

Lot of fun with a small group, good moderator (Marcelo), and challenging music.

Great play-in with only 3 cellists plus moderator! Sorry more of you couldn't be there. Maybe next month; maybe for the holiday concert rehearsals.

Lacked the inner resources to deal with crazy Saturday afternoon traffic on Wadsworth; made it as far as 88th, then turned back. Bummer.

I'll ask Gemma, but I'm guessing only the Organizer sees the dues-paying and previously sent that by hand. I'll send you what I sent Nancy too.

Ditto here—made a payment in April, but don't have a password (or can't find it) :-)

I'll try to make it. I'm moving that weekend, so no guarantees :)

Well, I've managed to tear my right rotator cuff. Bowing is not an option. I'm really disappointed, but it looks like I'm going to have to bow out for the rest of the year.

Dear BCP cellists. I'm sorry but October 25th is the date of my first symphony concert with the Broomfield Symphony. The music is challenging and I know that it would be difficult to do anything else that day except get ready to the play the concert. Is there any chance the meetups can be held on week nights rather than always on weekends? Here's the BSO web site for future concerts you might be interested in:

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
