The SF Data Mining meetup focuses on all aspects of the data pipeline--from data acquisition and big data storage to machine learning and data visualization.

Current Goals

  1. Host speakers
  2. Host educational workshops
  3. Host volunteer events
  4. Highlight existing events around the bay area and organize transportation, etc
  5. Spread awareness of rising data mining technologies

Who is this meetup for?

  • Data engineers, analysts, scientists, and other practitioners
  • Data visualization developers and designers
  • Journalists, library scientists, and others who dig through data for a living
  • ...and anyone else who enjoys data mining!

How can you get involved? (Besides attending events)

  • Become an organizer!  We'd REALLY love to have more organizers...drop us a line if you're interested.
  • Volunteer to help the group with videography or web design.
  • Provide a venue.  Probably the biggest hurdle to having more events is the challenge of getting a large (100+ person) venue.
  • Sponsor food and beer.  Don't have a large venue to offer, but want to help...beer money (literally) is always appreciated.
  • Email us a meetup topic.
  • Or just drop us a line and tell us you're enjoying the meetup :)

Henry

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
