Meetup is looking for a Strategist to help guide the Strategy Team. You will be joining a team of highly motivated contributors responsible for driving the future growth of Meetup, taking ownership over key facets of our strategy and also helping to develop and grow our strategy team. We’re looking for someone with a demonstrated history of high academic/professional achievement, leadership, and most importantly, an interest in the technology industry.
A typical day might include:
Helping a product team hypothesis test to determine whether to kill a feature.
Tackling short term projects such as researching competitive alternatives to our current ticketing product.
Balancing a long term analysis of competitors.
Working with our CFO to forecast our monthly revenue goals and creating a strategic plan based on revenue.
Working with our leadership team to help strategize where Meetup will be in 5 years.
An ideal candidate:
has 2-5 years of experience with a strategy/management consulting firm, internal strategy team, or has an advanced degree in business and/or engineering.
is self-motivated, organized and can drive problems to conclusion by planning and thinking ahead.
is a strong communicator and can synthesize complex information simply, pulling out only the most important insights.
is comfortable working with numbers, modeling scenarios, running sensitivity analysis, and structuring the underlying data (pulling from databases, SQL) to answer complex questions.
can give life and meaning to numbers by talking with customers and/or leading exploratory interviews to generate smart hypotheses for quantitative testing.
can effectively combine analytical skills with business acumen to structure problems, deliver solutions, and communicate insights.
has experience building relationships & trust with stakeholders.
has a strong point of view on the future of our industry.
Bonus points if you have experience with:
SQL or database skills
survey design & analysis
usability or interview moderation
statistical packages
