Student Concert Info

There are many performance opportunities for students throughout the week.

All string and wind students will perform in the final Celebration Concerts beginning in the late afternoon of Saturday, June 18 for Session 1 and Saturday, June 25 for Session 2. All piano students participate in solo Celebration Concerts.

Daily repertoire classes prepare students for these Celebration Concerts and will use material from the Repertoire Review List


Celebration Concerts

Celebration concerts will begin in the late afternoon of Saturday, June 18 and Saturday, June 25

All string instruments and flutes

Violins, violas, cellos, double basses, flutes, harps, and guitars perform in Group Celebration Concerts. The  concert program will be selected from the review list during the institute.

Piano

All piano students participate in solo Celebration Concerts. Piano students need to arrive to Institute with one solo Suzuki repertoire piece or movement prepared for solo performance.

Since we are a Suzuki program, we place a strong emphasis on the Suzuki repertoire.  However, as students playing beyond the level of Suzuki book 7 may perform repertoire that is supplementary to the Suzuki books.

Voice

All voice students participate in solo Celebration Concerts. Vocal students need to arrive to Institute with one vocal song with piano accompaniment prepared for performance.  Remember to bring to institute the piano accompaniment music to your vocal song!

Piano Duets

Piano Duets will be performed on the last day of each session during class time. Invite your parents and fans to hear your duet performed!


Pianists as Partners

A few extremely well prepared students may also be selected to perform in a separate recital held on Friday evening as a demonstration for teacher workshop participants.  Due to time restraints, not every piano duet and collaborative piano student will perform on this Friday recital.

Ensembles

Some of our ensemble classes perform their ensemble pieces.

Saturdays during the 11:30 lunch period

Solo Honors Recitals

Students are selected in advance to perform on one of the Solo Honor Recitals.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4:45 pm

Concert Dress

Concert dress is dark bottoms and white tops. Pianists may wear other colors if they wish.
