I began playing the Viola when I was in the sixth grade. I really wanted to play the cello but my family already had a viola sitting in the closet so Viola it was.

I met my husband in high school orchestra and played side by side with the London Symphony Orchestra when I was sixteen. How could it get any better? The following summer I went to Interlochen Arts Camp and had the best stand partner, Sphere’s own Aniel Caban. Who would have guessed we would end up stand partners again in the Boulder Philharmonic and Sphere fifteen years later?

I attended Florida State University and received my Bachelors in Music Education. During my time there I fell in love with chamber music and my semester in London really opened my eyes to a wide spectrum of musical experiences. After teaching middle school orchestra in Florida for several years, I decided I needed to pursue my dreams and get my Masters degree.

We moved to Colorado and I went back to school at CU. Years after rekindling my passion for chamber music with Emily Lewis and Chris Short as founding members of the MEO String Quartet, we still get to make music together in Sphere. When I’m not playing or teaching, I enjoy time with my husband and three daughters, having impromptu dance parties, spending time outdoors and living every moment with gratitude.
