Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

Our FP&A Manager is a new position and will be a key member of Meetup’s Finance team, reporting to our Finance Director. We are seeking an eager, curious and passionate FP&A professional that will be responsible for building the Financial Planning and Analytics function from the bare-bones system we have now to a fully built out decision-driving platform.

You will make an impact and ultimately help the company to achieve its financial and operational goals through data and sophisticated analysis. If you are smart, self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, you are the right person to join our team!

What you’ll do:

  • Own all aspects of the FP&A function, including leading the production of the annual budget, continual updating and analysis of the budget, financial flash reporting, and the like
  • Evolve Adaptive Planning and Adaptive Discovery for budget planning, long-term forecasting, and reporting. Integrate Intacct with Adaptive Insights to create an automated process of data flow between accounting and planning/forecasting
  • Perform detailed analysis and variance analysis of key profit, cost drivers and other financial KPIs. Support decision making by identifying necessary actionable steps in response to key variances
  • Develop and maintain relevant recurring reporting to support management accountability
  • Design dashboards to provide transparency on important KPIs
  • Partner with department leaders across the company to provide insights into the business and their teams, ultimately better informing decisions
  • Complete ad hoc projects and analysis report requests as needed

Who you are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance or equivalent discipline
  • 5 to 7 years of finance experience, including a minimum of 3 years of financial planning or analysis experience in investment banking, private equity, FMP, management consulting, as a senior analyst in a larger FP&A team, or similar role
  • Data driven: you must possess excellent analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a track record of presenting complex analysis to executives and senior management. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain trust from leadership
  • Ability and desire to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on in an entrepreneurial fast-paced environment; you’re a self-starter who loves wearing different hats and have an enthusiastic spirit that no job is too big
  • Must be a team player and a fast learner, who works effectively and is able to juggle a variety of responsibilities
  • Top-notch Excel skills and a manic attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of financial software integrations
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights preferred

Meetup’s team is smart, ambitious, and passionate; the environment is relaxed and a lot of fun despite regular, tight deadlines. We are focused on quick, quality completion of projects and excited by what we do. If this sounds exciting, tell us why you’d like to be our first FP&A Manager in your cover letter!
