The Wilfred (Will) Schwartz
Conductor's Endowment Fund
In 1996, Dr. Karl and Wilma Carson established the Wilfred (Will) Schwartz Conductor’s Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado as a way to honor their dear friend. Maestro Schwartz founded the Fort Collins Symphony in 1949 and served as conductor for 50 years. As longtime supporters of the Symphony, both Karl and Wilma served on the board of directors. Dr. Carson also served as a past president of what is now the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. Karl passed away on February 14, 2007 and Wilma passed away on September 13, 2014. They included the Schwartz Conductor’s Endowment fund in their estate plans, which resulted in more than $120,000 being added to the fund. We are honored their children - Dr. Tom Carson, Dan Carson, and LuAnn Carson Ball - will be able to see how their parents’ generosity will help ensure the Fort Collins Symphony continues to flourish. The Fort Collins Symphony Association is deeply grateful to the Carson family for their generosity and visionary gift.
