Meetup is seeking a Data Engineer to help build one of the most important pieces of infrastructure for a product that has so far as brought 25+ million people together worldwide. Every day, we generate hundreds of millions of data points that represent real people meeting up; we need your help designing and building the systems we use to analyze that data, and put it to work achieving our mission of a Meetup Everywhere about Most Everything!
What the work looks like
- Help inform product and strategy decisions by building Meetup’s data pipeline, data warehouse, and analytics platforms
- Work with machine learning engineers on making our product smarter by building performant algorithms on Hadoop and Spark
- Design Meetup’s future data system architecture

What we want from you
- 2+ years of hands on experience building applications on systems for high volumes of data like Spark, Hadoop and Redshift
- Excellent software engineering skills, with experience in Java and/or Scala
