The Strengthening Mississippi Academic Research Through Business Act is intended to meet the following goals: stimulate private investment in research and development; increase the competitiveness of Mississippi companies; and improve the economy of the State of Mississippi.
The program was created to encourage high-achieving high school graduates to pursue a career in teaching. Awards amounting to $15,000 annually will be made to students with a 3.5 GPA and 28 ACT seeking a bachelor's degree in teacher education.
