In 2017, Voice Program Director Marilyn Horne will oversee a fully-staged opera production of Donizetti's The Elixir of Love sung in Italian with English supertitles, performed with the Academy Festival Orchestra at the historic Granada Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara.

The opera will be led by world-renowned conductor and Academy alumna Speranza Scappucci ('96).

All voice types are welcome to apply. 

In addition to the opera production, each Voice Program fellow will be provided with performance opportunities throughout the program, including:

• A selection of opera scenes, conducted by Voice Program faculty and accompanied by Vocal Piano fellows.
• Vocal chamber music with Matthew Aucoin
• Orchestral vocal project with Matthew Aucoin
• Public masterclasses
• The opportunity to compete in the prestigious Marilyn Horne Song Competition
