Dave Noble was born
in 1949 in NewYork City to musical parents. His first two years of studying
the cello were with a very fine lady and cellist from the New York Philharmonic
and were to further his musical motivation for much of his professional
life. His college days were spent at the University of Colorado where
he was a student of Jurgen De Lemos (cellist of the Pablo Casals trio
and principal cellist of the Colorado Symphony). There, he met David
Reeve, a third generation luthier at Boulder, which was to lead to a
longtime association and friendship. Noble
Brothers Violin Shop is a continuation of the Fort Collins Music Emporium
that opened in 1991 in Fort Collins, Colorado. A new shop then emerged
with David Reeve of Reeve Violins, and Dave and Kris Noble, moving to
the Longmont area in 2001 and becoming the Noble Brothers Violin Shop
in 2008. It now serves the entire Front Range, extending services
as far east as Virginia and as far south as New Mexico and Texas.
After the passing of his brother Kris, Dave continues to serve as one
of the areas foremost makers and luthiers. |
