Our rental instruments are meticulously maintained and adjusted. We offer popular brands from workshops like Eastman, Snow and Core. You can choose a popular student model, or step up model if you are looking for an intermediate or advanced level instrument with the affordability and flexibility of renting. Here are the basic terms of our rental contracts, and other information:

Rent-to-Own Terms. If you rent for 36 months, you automatically own your outfit at that time. Early purchase options are available as well. Roughly 80% of your monthly payment goes toward the purchase of an instrument, should you decide to buy one.

Switch Sizes Freely at no cost while renting.

Outfits Include Instrument, bow, case (or padded bag for cello and bass), rosin included. For Violin/Viola, a foam shoulder pad is included.

We offer choices of bow, case and other customizations of your outfit. For just a little more cost, you can get a cool case, or upgraded bow, so your outfit does not look like it's a rental.

Regular Maintenance Included. Included in our rental rates, are common maintenance needs such as string replacement, bow rehair, minor adjustments. The cost to repair damage is not considered to be Maintenance, and you will be charged for any needed repairs. We are not concerned with minor scratches or dings in the varnish, as these are rental instruments, and signs of wear are expected. However, any serious damage which requires us to make repairs, or renders the instrument worthless is the renter's responsibility.

3 Month minimum rental period. (You will be charged only one month at a time, though)

Automatic Billing to your Credit or Debit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

If you ultimately end up owning your rental outfit, you can still trade it with us for another instrument or outfit later. How awesome is that! The trade value will be 80% or 100% of the "cash price" on your rental agreement, depending on what you trade for.

Effective 6/1/15, billing of new rental contracts are handled in-house! Rentals which originated prior to this date, remain with Monterey Financial. For legacy rental contracts billing support, contact Monterey Financial at 888-718-6632 or email us for assistance.

The next step is to determine which model and size you need, and send a copy of our rental agreement in the mail for you to complete and return (unless you are a local customer). Once we have the returned rental agreement, we will ship out your outfit. Ground shipping cost is added to the first month rental payment. For a Violin or Viola outfit, that charge is $12. For a Cello outfit, the charge is $55. Be sure to save the box in case you need to return.
