Conductors and Repertoire - Sewanee Summer Music Festival

Two full student orchestras present weekly concerts that feature exciting standard repertoire and works by important emerging composers. The SSMF regularly commissions new projects, such as the recent boundary-crossing composition by banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.

For its commitment to build repertoire and increase interest in music of our time, the SSMF was honored in 2014 with the ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming.
