Flute and Piano Lesson PolicyStudents are expected to arrive at scheduled lessons on time, with required music books, and with assignments well prepared. They are to maintain consistent practice of music assignments and complete written theory work.
TUITION
Students come to lessons once a week, and tuition is paid monthly at the final lesson of each month for the number of lessons you plan to attend the following month. Parents are also responsible for paying for any needed books, which I will provide at the lesson for your convenience. Tuition is $30 per half hour, $40 per 45 minutes, and $50 per hour.
CANCELLATIONS
Should it be necessary to cancel a lesson during the month, please give at least a 24 hour notice. If given advance notice, a make-up time can then be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. Tuition for missed lessons will not be refunded except for cancellations due to illness. Any lessons cancelled by the teacher will be rescheduled at a time convenient to both teacher and student, or a credit will be give for the following month.
RECITALS
Twice a year, students have the opportunity to perform for family and friends as a culmination of the work they have put into the mastery of their instrument. Recitals help students learn valuable performance skills, and gain confidence and experience with their instrument. It is expected that all students participate in both recitals.
TIME OFF
Students are expected to continue taking lessons during the summer. Students who are away during the summer are often frustrated by loss of technical facility, practice discipline, and theory skills. Students who stop lessons for longer than a month will have to reapply as new students.
HOLIDAYS – THE STUDIO WILL BE CLOSED ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS:
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- The Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving
- The day before Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day
