- Charles Avsharian, Shar CEO
"Why do I love the Lamberti violins? Because they allow my students to have a bright, clear-sounding instrument that both projects and is very sweet to the ear. Parents will enjoy hearing their child practice all afternoon on this violin and so will the student."

REVIEWED ON: November 05, 2016a violin that I was supposed to live with for life
reviewed by: Sid Stephens
On The violion you can see where someone made one for a stroke with the wrong color of varnish on this side you can see the whole side has been rubbing on something and is missing all of the Varney the chin rest is the worst of the worst it is so hard and uncomfortable to use my girlfriend was unable to return it do too she needed a violin right now and could not. Want for another. Now we have to live with all of these defects.
Franz Hoffmann® Prelude Violin Outfit - 3/4 size
REVIEWED ON: October 22, 2016Good, affordable student instrument
reviewed by: YVONNE WILDER
My daughter played with this Prelude 3/4 outfit for about 18 months before moving on to a full-sized violin. It was perfect for this transition period because it was affordable and had good tone. She took classical violin and fiddle lessons and played in youth orchestra with this instrument and sounded great. The only hiccup was that it arrived with a warped bow but Shar sent us a free replacement in a flash. Nice outfit.
Franz Hoffmann® Maestro Violin Outfit with TC100 Case - 1/2 size
REVIEWED ON: October 17, 20161/4 size - small violin, big sound
reviewed by: Teacher, JOANNA KOO
My daughter loves to play her violin. She is almost ready to upgrade to the 1/2 size! According to her, the Hoffman Maestro has a great sound and she loves the sweetness that comes out of it when she plays. She wanted to give it more stars. As a teacher, I recommend this violin to students who want to get a bold sound and are serious about investing practice time into this instrument.
Franz Hoffmann® Prelude Violin Outfit - 1/10 size
REVIEWED ON: October 15, 2016great starter
reviewed by: Parent, Anonymous
We have only had this violin about a month, but so far we have been pleased. This is the second violin we have purchased. The first violin we purchased was used approximately 6 months and due to the size (1/16) and quality we had a lot of issues with it not staying in tune, etc. So far this violin (1/10) has stayed in tune and has such a better sound. It's encouraging for a young student to practice with. Our 2.5 year old practices with it almost daily and I wish it came with an additional bow, but overall we are pleased with the purchase.

Violin has no shine to it it is very Daul. One spot on the corner where the wood would not hold the varnish and in one spot you can actually see a white spot where the it was glued and the glue is a different color than the varnish so that shows up I did keep the violin I am just calling those spots character spots Other than that I love the sound of the violin

reviewed by: Parent, KATELYN BRAIS
We are very pleased with our first instrument for our 4 year old daughter. We did order a shoulder rest as well as a chin rest different from the chin rest that is included in this item (per our instructor's recommendation). The quality of the instrument is excellent. Highly recommend!
Carlo Lamberti® Classic Violin - 4/4 size
REVIEWED ON: June 29, 2016Excellent Bright Sounding Violin
reviewed by: Student, Kathryn Vazquez
Based on an assessment of this instrument's craftsmanship, playability, and tone, the Carlo Lamberti Classic Violin is absolutely optimal for use of the advancing musician. Contrary to SHAR's statement regarding this Lamberti's sweet tone, the Classic has a pronounced, bright voice. The clarity of this violin's tone allows baroque musicians to acheive the robust style baroque is known for, while classical musicians can benefit from the brightness of this violin (especially when playing Mozart). Throughout both the lower and upper registers, there is a firm balance in its tone, which is a characteristic that I find evident in many more costly violins. A common customer concern, especially with new Chinese instruments, is a nasal quality that thwarts the violin's maximum potential. This Lamberti initially has that attribute, but has a very quick break-in time of a mere 45 minutes. I would go on about this violin, but I made the choice of writing this review late at night. To cut to the chase, this violin has excellent playability, which is what I feel sets it apart from much of the competition in this price range. USEFUL INFORMATION: Heard of the luthier Scott Cao? This violin is almost exactly like his STV-850s! It really is best-in-class-

I have had three students in my program purchase this instrument and all three instruments sound fantastic! I would expect a violin of this quality and sound to sell for at least double of what Shar is asking. Anytime a students is looking for their first "nice" instrument, this is the instrument I recommend they try first!

As a cellist primarily I was looking for a good instrument to teach on without spending too much as I would have it around students and traveling form school to school. This instrument easily won over myself, my high school orchestra director, and my college professor (who are both violinists). If you are looking TRY THIS VIOLIN! You wont regret it!
Carlo Lamberti® Classic Violin - 4/4 size
REVIEWED ON: May 03, 2016Excellent Instrument
reviewed by: Justin Davison
Shar really provided a gem with this one. The tonal quality of the violin is superb, better than most that I have played. My original violin was a student model and was destroyed in a flood, but this one handily takes its place. I am falling in love all over again with playing. Rob in the Violin Shop was great to deal with, and the customer service has been nothing short of exceptional. I highly recommend this company and this instrument in particular. If my son decides to take up violin lessons, I will buy this again in a smaller size.

Q. Hi, will the violin I order be tuned before being shipped or will we need to tune it?
A. Hi Emmanuel! All of our instruments are play tested and tuned before being packaged. Due to temperature and humidity changes during shipping, you may need to tune the instrument when you receive it. Thanks for your question!
