Note: This is a Baroque violin bow, which is typically only used for baroque style playing. If you are buying a first bow or backup bow for a beginner or student, or if you do not intend to play strictly baroque music, then this bow is not recommended!

Baroque bows have always held a fascination with classical string players for their old-world elegance and beauty, but they have traditionally been too expensive for all but the serious Baroque player or the classical player/bow collector. After receiving numerous requests over the years we have worked to develop a Baroque bow that would be affordable for a beginning Baroque player or for a classical player interested in owning a bow in this elegant style. There is no notable difference in performance between pernambuco and snakewood bows.

Invented by Dr. Suzuki himself, this unique, short (14 inch) bow is used by violin teachers worldwide to help break young violin students of the common habit of playing only in the upper half of the bow! Because the bow is so short, it forces the player to position the right hand in the lower bow position. Great for brush-up practice even for advanced players. Full-size frog and head works perfectly for all ages and levels.

When we set out to develop this new bow, we started with a list of "must-haves":
- The bow must feel alive and resilient, just like a fine-quality wood bow
- Weight and balance must be exactly like a traditional bow so that tedious re-learning of bowing techniques would not be necessary
- Each bow must conform to strict manufacturing standards, for consistency; yet, within defined parameters, the blending of carbon resins must be such that a variety of sticks would be made available for audition. In this way, a skilled violinist is able to discover the perfect PRESTO® Impulse bow
- Each bow must be fitted and finished by hand, to assure proper operation and hand-feel
