GREETINGS FOR THE 2016-17 SEASON FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AND PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD
Erik Peterson, Artistic Director
David Patton Barone, President
Dear Patrons, Supporters, and Friends,
Welcome to Front Range Chamber Players’ 32nd season of great chamber music and community outreach. Presenting world-class performances of beloved chamber music works, as well as lesser-known gems, is the foundation of FRCP. Our connections with Poudre River Public Library and Fort Collins High School have been equally rewarding, exciting, and engaging. We look forward to our continued and expanding relationships as we reach young and old alike throughout the Front Range community.
This coming season features an exciting European tour of chamber music! It has been a joy to build these themed programs around music from various regions of Europe. The music will transport you to Spain for Boccherini’s depiction of flamenco style, to Russia with composer Borodin’s romantic 2nd string quartet, and to England for Britten’s stoic March for oboe and strings. We finish our trip and celebrate our return to America with Dvorak’s “American” Quartet and and make a new friend with Paul Schoenfield’s “Café Music”.
Featured musicians will be familiar and new to FRCP audiences. Please join us in welcoming the (Kimberly) Patterson – (Patrick) Sutton Duo (left picture above), Felix Petit, David Korevaar, Abby Raymond, Max Soto, and Michael Davis, along with all of our returning musicians to the stage. The other two returning groups shown above are the Ivy Street Ensemble and the Mendelssohn Trio (add Erik to make three).
Finally, we would like to thank Robert Molison, Roberta Mielke, and Charles Tucker for their informative program notes and John Hermanson for making it possible for us to perform at Fort Collins High School. Special thanks to Sarah Hickman, our creative and conscientious graphic artist, who put up with our endless editing.
We hope you enjoy the tour!
Sincerely,
Erik Peterson , Artistic Director David Patton Barone, President of the Board
