About the Climbers
Welcome to our rock climbing blog! We're Anne E. Williams and Abram Herman, friends, climbing partners and coworkers. We met in an Introduction to Rock Climbing class in 2008 on the first day of both of our climbing careers, and since then we've broadened our abilities to an extent we never would have thought possible at the beginning. Now we have our sights set on something big.
The Nose on El Capitan in California's beautiful Yosemite Valley is perhaps the most famous rock climb in the world, and for good reason. It's huge, even to a climber, and takes the proudest line almost 3,000 feet up the center of a massive granite wall. This blog will be a place for us to chronicle our adventure—from the dream's inception, through our training efforts, to an ultimate end at the top of El Cap.
We'll be peppering all of our posts with lots of links to make the climbing language more accessible to our non-climbing readers—hopefully this will illuminate some of the technical aspects and lingo behind the sport we love.
